Chances of a white Christmas even lower than historic likelhood

Historically, Champaign-Urbana -- according to this Illinois State Water Survey chart -- has about a 30 percent chance of a white Christmas.

But it doesn't even look that likely this year. No forecast I could find says anything about snow being possible in East Central Illinois for the next five days -- just highs in the 30s and 40s and rain only today, tonight and tomorrow.

There is a 30 percent chance of rain/snow showers on Christmas Eve, according to the Weather Channel. But Weather Underground calls it a 20 percent chance. And the National Weather Service says Christmas Eve will be partly sunny.
