In his wonderful Assembly Hall story this morning, Paul Klee writes that the big hall cannot remember Frank Sinatra's playlist from his Nov. 1, 1990, show. I preserved it although this may not be the right order (it doesn't seem like it would be) ...
Come Rain or Come Shine
World on A String
Summer Wind
Someone Who Needs Me
You Make Me Feel So Young
My Way
The Best is Yet to Come
Where or When
The Lady is a Tramp
Strangers in the Night
What Now My Love
It Was A Very Good Year
My Boy Bill (Soliliquy)
One For My Baby
Mack the Knife
New York New York
No "My Kind of Town," according to my notes. I remember Frank Sinatra Jr. directed the orchestra, and the old man seemed unsure of the lyrics at times, but The Man could still sing. It was a goosebumps evening for me. I'm so glad I was there.
The floor seats were $45 apiece. I would have paid 10 times that much.
