In 1911, the Illinois Theatre Company of Urbana today filed suit for $10,000 damages against George Chatterton, Margaret Chatterton and the Sam Shubert booking agency for the back payment of rent. It is understood that the defendants have been delinquent for a long period of time and that demands upon them for payment have been met with refusals.

In 1911, Cecil Morton, the 14-year-old son of Royal farmer John Martin, was kicked in the head by a mule last night and is suffering from a fractured skull. He was taken to Burnham Hospital last night, and Dr. Rease operated on the boy this morning and relieved pressure. The boy is reported to be resting easily.

In 1911, downtown Urbana suffered a bad fire last night when the Urbana Drug Co. store at the corner of Race and Main streets was practically destroyed by smoke, fire and water damage. The fire was discovered at 11:45 p.m. in the basement of the building and it is believed to have been caused by defective electrical wiring.
