Gov. Rod Blagojevich is taking his Gross Receipts Tax show on the road next week and one of the stops will be in Danville.

Here's the itinerary ...

This landmark proposal -- big tax increase, big increase in school funding, big health care plan -- is not looking too healthy. There's a lot of indifference or opposition within his own party and even from his own running mate. But the governor says he's going to fight for this idea. We'll see.
What's interesting about his stop at the Laura Lee Fellowship House next Thursday is that Laura Lee was supposed to get a big state grant several years ago but the governor's office sat on it until this month. The group finally got their grant about 10 days ago -- but it wasn't as much as had been promised originally. There's some other intrigue connected with that grant that I'm not going to go into now. Maybe later on.

Ok, let's go to an economically challenged area close to the Indiana border and propose more taxes on Illinois business. What a great idea!
