Frerichs on the trail for Obama

State Sen. Mike Frerichs, D-Champaign, a longtime supporter of Barack Obama, was knocking on doors in Indianapolis today, urging Indiana Democrats to support Obama in the Indiana primary election.

He said he was tired after a long day and night, which he spent hanging campaign literature on doors and attending a late-night Obama rally in downtown Indy that featured the candidate and performer Stevie Wonder.

Asked for his take on the Indiana primary, Frerichs joked that his "sample size is really too small," but that he understands the Obama campaign expects a narrow loss in Indiana but a win in North Carolina. "If we can keep it close here and have a good-sized win in North Carolina, I think we can come out with a net gain."

Frerichs said he believes there's no opportunity left in the primary season for Sen. Hillary Clinton to make enough of a gain that she can catch Obama in the delegate count.

"All that's left for her to try, and I think it would be a very, very dangerous move, is for her to try to reverse pledged delegates," Frerichs said. "What I think she is really doing is running now for 2012. I don't think she can win this now without destroying the party."

Frerichs said he believed he was the only Illinois legislator working in Indianapolis for Obama. While the Illinois House was in session today, the Senate was out. "My guess is that there are some senators working for Obama up in Gary, Hammond and East Chicago," Frerichs said.

On an entirely different matter, Frerichs said he was never threatened regarding last week's Senate vote (that failed) to have a citizen vote in November on the issue of public official recall.

Frerichs voted to put the recall issue on the ballot. But only 33 seantors supported the proposal and 36 votes were required.

"They were hitting on me pretty hard," Frerichs said. "And it wasn't just President Jones.

"But I just told them that I thought the public had a right to vote on it."

He said he was never threatened, and there were any deals offered for his vote.

He noted, for example, that the Danville Correctional Center has not been threatened with closure (the Pontiac prison, represented by Sen. Dan Rutherford, a Republican who voted for recall, is now on a new hit list).

"No threats have been made. No threats were implied," Frerichs said. "This may hinder my ability to get something for my district in the future but I think it is a vote the vast majority of my constituents wanted me to make."

So, our local state senator was out of district, CAMPAIGNING for our INEPT US Senator, who only has 146 day's experience in the US Senate before he decided to run for president, leaving the State with only ONE US Senator who is ALSO INEPT!!!

DOES ANYONE ELSE FEEL THAT THEIR TAXED DOLLARS ARE BEING MISUSED PAYING THE SALARIES OF THESE ARROGANT "CAREER POLITICIANS??!!

OBAMA SHOULD RESIGN HIS SENATE SEAT WHILE HE IS RUNNING FOR THE PRESIDENCY!!! HE DOES NOT DESERVE TO RUN FOR HIGHER OFFICE WHILE NOT PERFORMING THE OBLIGATIONS OF THE OFFICE HE SWORE TO PERFORM THE DUTIES OF!!!

Barack Hussain Obama is real all right, He's a real liar (didn't he say he would serve his full senate term?), he's a real socialistic-communist, he is really not honorable (he takes his senate salary, but is too busy campaigning/raising money to fulfill his obligations in the senate), he is a real typical politician (promise everything, follow through on litle bit of nothing), he's a real infanticide enabler (no partial pre/post birth abortion dis-allowed), he's a real terrorist enabler (wanting to withdraw troops from Iraq conflict), he's really unethical (where did he get all that money to but his mansion and adjacenmt partial lot with help from Rezko?), he's a real empty suit, he's a real puppet (just wait for George Soros to start pulling his strings!!), he really studied the koran in the native Arabic language (to show the highest respect to the imams), he has a real communist "mentor" (Frank Marshal Davis), and the list goes on......

One more thing, he's a real a bad choice for president of this great country!!

I just wonder WHAT "FReRyder" (NOT me) thinks is idiotic about an INEPT, CORRUPT, IMMATION of a US Senator (B. Hussein Obama) taking a salary (along with ALL the "perks" of the position) while NOT performing the OBLIGATIONS that are REQUIRED in holding that "office"?

I would suggest that "FReRyder" (NOT me)be looking in the mirror when (S)HE is accusing someone of being an "idiot!!

"FReRyder" (NOT me) above CANNOT REFUTE any statements/FACTS so he has NO alternative than to TRY to denigrate/belittle those who would expose OBVIOUS UN-ethical behavior in one (B. Hussein Obama) who STRIVES to be the LEADER of the free world (to lead this great country to socio-communism)!

May God protect us from terrorist-enabling communists BOTH foreign AND domestic!! AND may God BLESS America!!

I would like to commend the N-G for printing the stats about the primary election when Rod Blagovich won over Paul Vallas. Not only did Vallas win in both Cook and DuPage, but I think if you aggregate the totals for the entire Chicago area (i.e., consider Will, Lake, McHenry and Kane as well) you will find that Vallas was supported over the entire area.

It is not correct for people to blame Blagovich on "Chicagoans". I believe you will find that his primary support came from the East St. Louis area. Other areas were mostly neutral or marginally supported his opponent back in 2002.
