The best, and just about the only area legislative race of any interest this year, has incumbent Rep. Bill Black, D-Danville, being challenged by Democrat Lori DeYoung of Fithian in thre 104th House District. (I profiled DeYoung in my Sunday N-G column).
Campaign disclosure reports now show that Black raised $46,398 in the last six months (but that most of that came from two certificates of deposit he cashed in).
He spent $27,573 on rent, utilities, office supplies, phone service, postage, radio ads, printing, etc.
Black has about $54,500 on hand.
DeYoung raised $29,127 during the six-month period Jan. 1 to June 30, most of its from labor union locals.
She spent $8,667 on gasoline, billboards, newspapers and radio ads, buttons, stickers, yard signs and nail files.
She has $23,104 on hand.
Neither is yet getting money from their state political parties or the organizations run by their House leaders. But a lot of money could pour into the district after Labor Day if DeYoung makes a race of it.
