Snoop Dogg coming to the Canopy Club

URBANA — Snoop Dogg, one of the best-known hip-hop artists in history, is coming to town.
He will perform Jan. 31 at the Canopy Club, 708 S. Goodwin Ave., U — and the show is already sold out.
But the Canopy Club Facebook page has a contest with the prize being two meet-and-greet-Snoop-Dogg passes for the show. To enter, fans create a YouTube video performing their favorite Snoop Dogg song and then send a link to the video to snoop@jaytv.com by Jan. 21. The video will be posted at YouTube, and the one receiving the most “likes” from online viewers will win the contest.
Snoop Dogg is touring to support his 11th studio album, “Doggumentary,” to be released through Doggystyle/Priority Records on March 29.
His latest single, “Wet,” produced by The Cataracts, was released last week and hit the No. 1 “most added slot” at urban radio. Snoop has said the recording was made for Prince William’s upcoming bachelor party. The accompanying video, directed by Dylan “Pook” Brown, was recently shot in Las Vegas and debuted on Vevo last week.
Known for his lively shows, Snoop Dogg’s “Get Wet” tour started Tuesday and will take him to venues nationwide. For up-to-date, confirmed information on show dates and locations, log on to www.snoopdogg.com.
