A few more changes in features content

The News-Gazette is making a few changes to some of its standing features. Readers will see evidence of these changes in newspapers Friday, Saturday and Sunday, starting this week.

— First and foremost, our Gearhead of the Week feature, which has become quite popular with car enthusiasts, is moving from the Saturday At Home section to the front part of our Sunday Classifieds section. You can see the first Sunday Gearhead entry, Rob Keller and his 1956 MGA, on Page H-1 this week.

We believe having the Gearhead feature on a section front will simply add to its popularity, and this move should allow us to devote our At Home space to more appropriate home and garden items.

Readers are encouraged to nominate friends, family members or even themselves and their vehicles to be featured. This can be done by emailing gearhead@news-gazette.com. We continue to receive numerous nominations each week, so please be patient as we work through our list. And we’re always glad to get more suggestions. In addition, please feel free to email information on any auto shows or events within driving distance; we run a Gearhead Calendar each week with the feature.

And, in case you didn’t notice, our photographers always include a multimedia piece with each gearhead on our website. Check it out at www.news-gazette.com/multimedia.

— Another move we’re making involves columnist Don Follis. His column, which runs every two weeks, is moving from Fridays to Sundays. You can read his first Sunday column on Page B-3.

Follis, who’s from Urbana, provides pastoral care with Vineyard churches in the Midwest and coaches pastors throughout the nation, and his column will be an added attraction for our Sunday papers. He can be reached at donscolumn@gmail.com.
