A year ago, I wrote a column about my dog Flower, who once ate a 5-pound bag of flour (living up to her name if you accept the premise that she didn’t know how to spell).
I couldn’t believe a dog would do that. But even more unbelievable was the number of responses from pet lovers who wanted to share amusing stories about their animal friends.
A traditional Irish music concert scheduled for Friday featuring fiddler Matt Cranitch and button accordionist Jackie Daly has been moved to a larger venue.
It will now be in the santuary of McKinley Church, 809 S. Fifth St., C. Seating will begin at 7 p.m., and the show will start at 8 p.m.

CHAMPAIGN — Thomas & Friends are making tracks to the U of I Assembly Hall in a live touring stage show, Thomas & Friends Live! On Stage in “Thomas Saves the Day.”
The 90-minute musical adventure will be at the University of Illinois Assembly Hall in April.
Two performances, at 3 p.m. and 6 p.m., are scheduled for April 24.
Champaign County Home and Community Education is looking for volunteers to help make Linus and Weighted blankets for hospitalized children and children with autism.
They'll make the blankets from 9 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 30 at the Champaign Farm Bureau Building on Country Fair Drive in Champaign.
