Jokes are back in E3
Wed, 09/09/2009 - 5:19pm | John Beck
Last Thursday, for the first time in many years, we did not run the jokes column in E3 magazine. Readers did not find it humorous.
Facing a space crunch in the magazine last week, we decided to pull the jokes column in favor of other content, and also in part to see what the reaction of readers would be. We call this a test drop, and it's sometimes the only way we can tell whether a particular feature is popular with readers. We found out — the humor page is popular. We got some letters to the editor, phone calls and e-mail messages.
So, no joke, we got the message. Knowing now that readers enjoy the jokes column, we'll do our best to make sure it stays in E3 each week.
