If you're an Illini football fan, you'll want to call up IlliniHQ during the football game Saturday.
Illinois opens its season against Missouri at the Edward Jones Dome in St. Louis, and we've got some things planned for IlliniHQ, our website devoted to Illini sports, that will add to your enjoyment of the game.
Our photo editor, Darrell Hoemann, for the first time will be shooting photos for posting on IlliniHQ during the game. He'll send photos to IlliniHQ by transmitting from his camera to the press box, where the photos will be captioned and sent to the newspaper office to be posted on the website during the game. You can hear Darrell explain what he'll be doing on Dave Gentry's show on WDWS-AM 1400 around 8:30 a.m. Thursday (Sept. 2).
Our sports staff, led by football beat writer Bob Asmussen, will be doing live reports before and during the game starting at around 9:30 a.m. Game time is 11:30. And Bob will also have a video report previewing the game that will be posted on Friday, and a post-game chat to wrap things up.
