In Wednesday's paper, Santorum's fundraising, food co-op expansion, Illini-Boilermakers
In Wednesday's newspaper, we'll look at Rick Santorum's fundraising in Illinois, a change in plans for a food co-op's expansion and we'll preview the Illinois-Purdue basketball game.
Columnist Tom Kacich writes that Illinois appears to be late to embracing Rick Santorum as a presidential candidate. The new Republican presidential front-runner has raised less money than several contenders who already dropped out of the race.
The Common Ground Food Co-Op in Urbana has had a change of plans in its expansion project, Don Dodson reports. The co-op is reopening its campaign to raise money for expansion, after construction bids came in too high.
Dodson also reports that a new Italian sit-down restaurant is coming to Market Place Mall.
Speaking of food, Paul Wood writes in our Food section that fried foods are the mortal enemy of a healthy diet, but if you have to fry, reach for the extra virgin olive oil. And chef Rocco DiSpirito offers a jambalaya recipe that helps shed pounds, not flavor, for Fat Tuesday.
In Sports, Paul Klee previews Wednesday night's basketball game between an Illini men's team desperate for a victory and the Purdue Boilermakers; Purdue has beaten the Illini six in a row.
