In Friday's News-Gazette — Urbana's climate action plan, homeless survey, coach feeling the heat

In Friday's newspaper, we'll have stories about Urbana's climate action plan, volunteers needed for a survey of the homeless in CU, and Illini coach Tim Beckman feeling the heat.

Patrick Wade will be on hand as the Urbana Plan Commission discusses a proposed climate action plan for the city. City officials have completed a greenhouse-gas inventory, the first step in writing Urbana’s climate-action plan, which aims to reduce the city’s negative environmental effects while increasing quality of life for residents.

Debra Pressey reports that a local organization is looking for at least 100 adults age 18 and older, willing to spare a few hours to help survey the homeless folks of Champaign-Urbana.

Columnist Loren Tate writes that in just five games, Illini football coach Tim Beckman is already feeling the pressure. He sees his Illini playing poorly. He is aware that the fans are leaving Memorial Stadium early. And if you want to know how he feels, he has a simple request. Ask him.
