Starting Tuesday, June 30, you'll see a new format and some new features in our Tuesday newspaper. We're going back to four sections and adding features on health and fitness and families on alternating weeks, starting with health.
The health pages will feature staff written stories, Sandra Ahten's Reasonable Diet column, calendar items and "news to use" from local sources and wire services. We'll be developing other content over time.
Staff writer Julie Wurth's column on parenting will anchor the families pages, which will also contain local stories and practical information on family life.
With this change, the format of the Tuesday through Saturday papers will be consistent with four sections. Sunday's paper is bigger with eight sections, and Monday's will remain at two sections for the time being.
Last February, in response to economic conditions, we cut back on the number of pages in our Monday and Tuesday papers as well as changing the format from four to two sections. Recently, we've added pages to each paper.
