Here are some things knowledgeable people have pointed out in Electrical Outlets. Every so often, I'll add more links to this page. (And if you have suggestions, feel free to add them in comments.)
CELL PHONE GAMES
There is a good blackjack game for the iPod Touch (and iPhone).
And one for the Motorola Droid.
I love Acronis TrueImage to clone a larger drive to use in an existing machine. I've used it on several different machines and the cloned drive works every time. (There's a free version at Western Digital's site for when one of the drives is a WD drive.) I've also had good success with EASEUS software for a free solution.
Suggestions for online genealogical research include ancestry.com; one friend suggests going to the Urbana Free Library Archives and ask to be shown how to use the site there. Another friend says it's best for American ancestors and comes with a free trial; for European records, she says, her husband has had good luck with familysearch.org, run by the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints.
Another friend recommended Rootsweb, which seems to have become part of ancestry.com, as a website.
And the only software recommendation I got was for Family Tree Maker, which - perhaps you guessed it - has become part of ancestry.com.
I always check woot.com for its daily deals. Occasionally I will find something at sellout.woot and wine.woot, both of them linked from the main Woot page.
A reader suggested monoprice.com for cables, wires and accessories.
In addition to Priceline and Travelocity, readers suggest plenty of other sources for travel information online, including a blog about travel deals, a site for park and fly deals, Travelzoo, Kayak, a site aimed at students traveling.
