I would like to tell you the things I’ve forgotten this morning.
That would be a neat trick, wouldn’t it?
I’d like to say I have a good reason for it, but it might just be I don’t pay close enough attention.
But I strive for a solution. I’ve created a to-do list on Google Docs. That works for a while, until I forget to put stuff there. Or to look at it. I use paper lists, but those only work so long as I keep them with me. Put the list down, and I’ll forget where I put it.
I’ve tried to use machines to help me remember, but most of them involve too many steps. Enter something on my Google calendar, and I can set a reminder. That helps, but some of the stuff I have is just little stuff that I need to remember for the time it takes me to get from home to work.
Now I’ve found an app for my phone that works for me, called Color Note.
It’s available in the Android Market, and published by Social & Mobile.
There are plenty of sticky note apps and widgets available for any phone or computer operating system you care to name. The one big improvement on this one is I can write myself a note at home and set an alarm for 45 minutes later.
I can do that with my calendar, but this takes fewer steps and doesn’t clog my calendar. For short-term tasks, it’s perfect for me. The alarm reminds me, I do the task, I delete the note.
There are more capabilities than this, but this one function is exactly what I need.
Now, what was I about to do?
