Prediction Standings and Illinois-Iowa Predictions

Got the prediction Standings updated. Penniless was able to put together a couple of correct predictions the last two games and has jumped out in front as we approach the end. We will go however long the Illini want to go, so who knows how many more chances the rest of us have to catch up? Here's how things look after 24 games.

MY PREDICTION

IOWA 69          ILLINOIS 65

Illinois probably needs four wins in a row to get into the Big Dance. For that to happen, Illinois will have to take out some solid teams. If they get by Iowa, it's then Michigan State, and then some other good teams like Wisconsin, Ohio State or Michigan could stand in the way. Pretty much, four wins in a row seems very unlikely, especially since the team is struggling to win a single game.

I hate to see it end like this, but this team is so far down that only a miracle could get them back on track. It's hard for me to imagine anything other than a one and done in the Big Ten Tourney, then it's on to the Not Invited Tournament.

What do you guys think? Do the Illini begin a late season surge, or do they set up camp at rock bottom? Let me know with your thoughts and predictions below.

NOTE: If the Illini are to win on Thursday, feel free to predict their next game on this same blog entry. Since I'm working overnights again, I will be asleep during and after Thursday's game, so I will be a little slow getting up my next prediction. With the games coming in rapid fashion, I want to make sure you guys have plenty of time to predict, so feel free to throw up your prediction on this blog entry if I'm not up to date.

Iowa 62, Illini 58. It's over at last. Please dont go to the NIT, and get embarrased again. Two words for you -- Kevin Stallings.

I am wishing strongly that it doesn't happen, but I just don't see it in the cards...but really, who knows with this bunch of Illini? The defense is atrocious right now and that is not ever a good thing...This is no fun any more.....

Did the coaches do enough to rally the troops to get one last run out of them or are the players just ready for the season to be over? We'll find out. Possibly Bruce and Meyers' last game as illini. Kinda sad.
