I understand why it's called holiday hoops hysteria.
In the past two days, I've traveled to five venues to watch a total of nine games and spent about nine hours on the road.
Isn't it ironic that Pontiac wants to keep its boys' tournament simple and on schedule, so they do not introduce starters prior to each game, but they take time to name the tournament sponsors for the particular teams which are playing?
How about the public address announcer at the State Farm Classic, in Normal? His job during timeouts and between quarters is to read through a list of advertisements. Did you know MikeSell potatoe chips are the nation's oldest?
See, there's more than basketball going on this week.
It will be time for the morning commute before I'm ready, so I'll cut this short. I need a fill-up of gas. By Saturday night, I'll have had my fill of basketball ... at least for this week!
