Call it 'Super Saturday'

Anyone interested in checking out some boys' basketball players of the future should check out the action Saturday at Urbana. The school is hosting a 12-team shootout featuring seventh- and eighth-grade teams.

Urbana High School's two gyms will be utilized as will the Urbana Middle School Gym.

The action starts with three games at 9 a.m. and will continue until the final three-game session starts at 4:35 p.m. A new set of games is scheduled to start every 65 minutes.

Area schools Urbana, Champaign Edison, Champaign Franklin, Rantoul Eater and St. Joseph are in the field along with entries from Teutopolis, Pleasant Plains, Decatur, Springfield, Quincy and two from East St. Louis.

Every school is guaranteed of playing two games.

This is an event that Urbana, under the direction of Paul Douglas, has hosted for several years.
