Dinette Set isn't going anywhere
My editors and I have had a few readers upset by the fact that The Dinette Set didn't appear in the Classifieds the other day.
Customers are so upset that they're emailing creator Julie Larson and asking if the rumor is true that The News-Gazette is cutting her strip.
No! No way! Not a chance! The rumors are FALSE!
This exact issue was one of the major reasons we pulled almost all of the comic strips from the Classified section. The protocol is, if the Classified section has more content than its pages can contain, the comics are removed to make more room. Before our comics survey results, some of the comics would be missing one day and then double-up the next day.
Readers raged, saying they were tired of things being moved around so much and not having any dependability when it came to some of their favorites.
When we made those changes back in April, The Dinette Set was the only one left behind because it is oddly sized compared to the rest of the strips we run.
So this week, when the Classified section ran over, The Dinette Set was the victim. And, just as expected, readers were upset.
Please, rest assured that The Dinette Set did very well in our comics poll, and will not be going anywhere for a while. And if you don't see it on one day, it will be there the next.
As always, questions can be addressed to 351-5213 or by emailing comics@news-gazette.com.
