The idea of using beet juice to melt snow
makes me chuckle, mostly because it makes me think of the beet-farming,
over-the-top Dwight Schrute on NBC's "The Office."
All joking aside about the way Schrute would love this use
of beets (his character once monologued about how to best display his
wares in a roadside stand), it's an interesting use of a natural
product. It seems to fit pretty well with the movement toward "green" ways of living.
Plus, it seems like beet farmers might have trouble finding a market.
