Recipe for tangy White Barbecue Sauce

Health nuts, turn away, because the recipe I'm about to share is all kinds of wrong.

Lately, Rob has been poring over "The Big Book of BBQ" and saw a mention, but not a recipe, of White Barbecue Sauce.

 

So of course, we had to Google a recipe and then try it.

I know that any mayo-based sauce or dressing is super high in fat, but this treat was so worth it. We had White Barbecue Sauce on grilled chicken for dinner last week and have been using up the rest of our batch in place of regular mayonaise on sandwiches. Next time I make it, it will be with low-fat mayo so I don't have to feel so guilty about it.

Rob has his eye on other strange barbecue-sauce concoctions, so I'll keep you posted on those.

White Barbecue Sauce
1 1/2 cups mayonnaise
1/4 cup white wine vinegar
1 garlic clove, minced
1 tablespoon coarse ground pepper
1 tablespoon spicy brown mustard
1 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon salt
2 teaspoons horseradish

Stir ingredients together and store for up to a week in the fridge, in an airtight container.
