Using newspaper to start charcoal for your grill

Blog PhotoWhen I blogged a while back about newspaper end rolls and their various uses, Urbana resident Jeff Dougan mentioned that you could use cooking spray and newspaper to start charcoal when you're grilling.

OK, seriously, I like to compile newspaper reuse ideas (I even have a board on Pinterest) but this may be the most genius thing I've heard yet.

Jeff posted specific instructions on his blog, and credits Food Network personality Alton Brown with the idea. He also gave me permission to use some photos, which I've posted here.

Blog PhotoI love this idea because it's so smart, yet so simple. And it replaces the need for lighter fluid, which is great too.
