Daydreaming about kitchens built with cool, salvaged items

Daydreaming about kitchens built with cool, salvaged items

Things are a little nutty right now, but that hasn't stopped me from daydreaming about houses.

Lately, I've been thinking about the show "Rehab Addict" on the DIY Network (if you are an old house lover and are into DIY, you should definitely check it out) and the kitchens the show's host creates out of salvaged cabinets.

So of course, I've been finding photos of kitchens featuring similar salvaged items on Pinterest and then daydreaming some more. Here's what I mean:

Can you imagine having a library ladder in your kitchen? Too cool.

I love the old sink and cabinets in this one.

Here's another big, old sink incorporated into a modern kitchen. And look at all that cabinet space.

Lately, I've been loving the idea of using salvaged lab tables and cabinets in a kitchen, even though I know in real life, you have to be wary of the chemicals they've been exposed to. I love the warm wood and dark counter on this lab table being used as an island.

The original post from where this picture came from said this cabinet was salvaged from a high school. I love how it looks, especially with those corbels.
