I usually pride myself on being a sensible shopper. I made lists, prioritize, watch for sales and so on. But when I get to Beachy's, my favorite Amish bulk food store, it's like I can't stop myself from chucking things into my cart. I bring home the strangest things.
Case in point: during my most recent trip, I couldn't stop myself from buying more than a pound of shelled hazelnuts.
Turns out, they're a little too bitter to eat straight out of the bag. So I've been researching sweet recipes I can use them in. Here's what I've found so far.
I really want to try this homemade Nutella that doesn't call for condensed milk or cream:

Or I could make Hazelnut Praline.

Or even Hazelnut Bundt Cake (which would require making a meal from the hazelnuts, but I think I could handle it).

Or maybe I'll just whip up a batch of Peanut Butter Hazelnut Chocolate Cookies. That would probably work.
