Meg Makes: Making some progress on a long to-do list

Lately, I've been feeling a little overwhelmed all the things on my to-do list. However, I woke up this morning and realized, at least I'm making good progress.

Blog PhotoFor example, I think I convinced Rob a storage bed is a great idea. He started making drawings last weekend for a bed that will work forBlog Photo our small bedroom.

It will be totally custom, with deep drawers on the side where we have the most space, and shallow cubbies on the side closest to the wall. He's even thinking about incorporating a bedside table for himself, complete with a nook underneath where the dog can hide during thunderstorms. I came home yesterday to find him covered in sawdust and cutting down and reassembling lumber.

Blog PhotoI'm working on several crochet projects and am learning to knit. I'm feeling a little stressed about finishing a few gifts in time, but at least I've finished my sampler-stitch baby afghan, and am almost done with a second in shades of blue.

My house is a complete mess, but my yard is actually looking pretty decent. Yesterday afternoon, I took a shovel to the sod around the doghouse and transplanted a few things, including eight volunteer catnip plants, some creeping Jenny and some spotted dead nettle.

I am hoping to plant lavender directly in front of the doghouse. I have Blog Photoanother nearby, next to our patio, and it's thriving. I've also put down some mulch in weedy, muddy areas of the yard. I plan to add more soon, but hey, progress.

Looking back at all that, I guess I'm not doing too badly. What kinds of things are progressing at your house?
