Lilacs a luxury of spring

Last night, warnings of frost had me out in the garden with my clippers, cutting off every lilac bloom I could reach.

(Does frost kill lilacs? Did it actually frost last night? I don't have answers to these questions - do you? I just didn't want to waste my lovely lilac blooms.)
