As summer nears its end, I look back on the music I've taken in over the past few months. It's been pretty awesome, and I didn't even see a fraction of what there was to enjoy. Fortunately, there are still several upcoming events that keep me going and looking forward to them. This Friday is Umphrey's McGee and STS9 at White River in Indianapolis. Tickets are still available and it promises to be a great time. The very next day the double act moves up to Chicago at First Merit Bank Pavilion at Northerly Island. But the real gem of the end of summer is Shoe Fest in Manteno. With a stellar lineup, a prime campground, and some of the best music the Midwest has to offer, you won't want to miss it. For the metalheads out there, Between the Buried and Me will playing their latest album "Hypersleep Dialogues II: Future Sequence" in its entirety in Chicago this October, with The Faceless as support. There are too many acts happening so soon to give them all coverage, so expect more!
