Colbert chooses Illinois

Illinois recruiting target Austin Colbert, a four-star forward from Gladstone, N.J., on Monday made a verbal commitment to play for John Groce and the Illini.

Illinois beat out Villanova, Seton Hall and Miami.

The 6-foot-9 forward from Gill St. Bernard's can sign a letter of intent on Wednesday.

Illinois is expected to sign four  other players Wednesday: Belleville East guard Malcolm Hill, Springboro, Ohio, center Maverick Morgan and the Simeon backcourt duo of Kendrick Nunn and Jaylon Tate.

While it remains to be seen how they perform at the College level.......I'd say Coach Groce has done well in a few short months!
