Judson joins Indiana staff

Former Illinois guard Rob Judson on Saturday was named the director of basketball operations at Indiana, according to the Indianapolis Star.

Judson, who played for Lou Henson’s Illinois teams from 1977-80, was most recently an assistant coach at Illinois State under Tim Jankovic and Dan Muller.

Judson was an assistant at Illinois from 1996-2001 before becoming the head coach at Northern Illinois.

Judson, 56, replaces Calbert Cheaney on the Indiana staff. Cheaney left his alma mater to take a coaching position at St. Louis.

The director of basketball operations is not permitted to recruit off campus or actively participate in practices.
