Yesterday my work-day started with a meeting at Hessel Park to plan for the upcoming Mutt Strut that will take place there on Saturday the 24th. What a great way to start to the day! The weather was gorgeous, and the park is so lovely this time of year. Walking around the park and planning the event was exciting – I just hope the long-term weather forecasters

This year, I’d like to invite everyone who loves animals to join friends of the Champaign County Humane Society at the annual Mutt Strut. Yes, that’s right, I’m inviting all of you, not just dog owners with socially-well-adjusted dogs.
This Thursday at Cowboy Monkey in Champaign, the Zoo Improv group is doing a benefit performance for the Champaign County Humane Society. The show is from 7-8:30 pm and the price of admission is your donation to the Humane Society. This great local group has been doing once-monthly shows for the benefit of local charities for months. Come have a laugh and support their efforts!
