Hello, and welcome to "Playing Critic," my blog about video games, where I'll do my best to deliver insightful reviews of the latest games to hit store shelves, as well as keep you informed about game-related news developments.
I'm writing this because the future of my print column, which has traditionally appeared Thursdays in The News-Gazette's E3 magazine, is somewhat in doubt. We've happily had so much advertising for that publication lately that there just hasn't been room for me — even though I've got a huge pile of titles to tell you about, as well as a few features from September's Penny Arcade Expo that you'll still find interesting.
This isn't to say that you won't still see me in print on occasion. The situation is just a bit ... nebulous.
First up, I'll have a review of Electronic Arts' "Medal of Honor," a reboot of a first-person shooter series originally focused on World War II, but now moved to the modern day of the war in Afghanistan.
Anyway, thanks for reading, and I hope to see you here often.
