Has the U.S. turned the corner in Iraq?

Time magazine named Vladimir Putin its Man (whoops) Person of the Year, and it's a defensible pick. Back guy though he is, Putin is having a big impact on world affairs. But political analyst William Kristol said he has a better choice -- the U.S. general who is leading the "surge" in Iraq to success.

How much better is the situation in Iraq now than it was before Gen. David Petraeus? Kristol contends things are much better, and everyone but the Moveon.org crowd is hoping he's right. The U.S. could use a little light at the end of the tunnel.
