Newsweek's Robert Samuelson asks a common-sense question about the American energy situation.
With prices through the roof and working families, the families Democrats say they care about most, really hurting because of it, why are we doing nothing to lower the price of oil?
No, he's not referring to brain-dead price controls. He's talking about exploring for energy, pointing out that the U.S. has large, untapped oil reserves purposely put off limits by Congress.
Meanwhile, we're paying billions and billions of dollars to foreign governments to import oil we could be producing ourselves. It makes no sense, at least that's Samuelson's take on the situation. Mine, too.
