The point of running for office is to win, and it looks like that point is not lost on Democratic presidential candidate Barrack Obama.
That must be why he's shedding his old positions and adopting new ones.
But how credible is it to believe that he actually opposes the U.S. Supreme Court decision striking down the death penalty in the recent case from Louisiana or that he actually supports the high court's recent decision upholding the right of homeowners to possess guns.
Opposition to the death penalty, particularly in cases not involving murder, and support for confiscating firearms from gun owners are part of every liberal's political platform. And Obama is a liberal. Then again, he's also a candidate.
