Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin sure gave a rowsing speech at the Republican National Convention.
It put Republicans in the same Messiah-like trance Democrats were in when their current presidential candidate Barack Obama wowed the Democratic National Convention with his keynote address there four years ago. Her zingers, delivered with both aplomb and a smile, had the delegates in the convention hall roaring and Democrats watching at home bouncing off the walls. What a show.
But there's more to Palin than just a speech. Her record in Alaska, particularly her successful stance taking on a corrupt party establishment and powerful oil companies, is impressive.
The Wall Street Journal's Kimberly Strassel took a look at Sarah's rise to power in today's edition. It is an interesting story.
