Let's not kid ourselves. So much of our politics today has become show biz.

But , like show biz, novelty only lasts for so long. Barack Obama once was hotter than a fire cracker. Now Sarah Palin, the GOP candidate for vice president, is the new, new thing.

As Obama has learned and Palin will learn,  these cults of celebrity don't last forever. The Washington Post's Charles Krauthammer  examines the political danger for high risers who come down to earth.
