Pseudo-Intellectual

There's a great show at the Virginia Theater Saturday night (Sept. 26)

The last time the Capitol Steps were in town, they absolutely killed the audience at the Krannert Center. So if you like political satire, make it a point to attend Saturday's night show at the Virginia Theater in downtown Champaign.

The Virginia's ticket office reports that there still are plenty of good seats available.

Who are the Capitol Steps? They began as a group of U.S. Senate staffers who in their off-hours satirized the public officials for whom they worked. But they struck such a chord with their good humor and the striking intelligence of  their musical satires that they eventually went professional.

You can check out their style on the group's web page -- capsteps.com/

Their  professional resume includes 29 albums, including their latest, Obama Mia . They've been featured on NBC, CBS, ABC, and PBS, and can be heard 4 times a year on National Public Radio stations nationwide during their Politics Takes a Holiday radio specials.

The show should be a laugh a minute. I guarantee it.
