Peering into the Class of 2014 crystal ball

The Class of 2013 is almost sewn up for Illinois football head coach Tim Beckman and his staff.

National signing day is less than two months away for a large majority of the class.

Five from junior college ranks brought in

What once was seven junior college players became five on Wednesday.

Wide receiver Martize Barr, defensive tackle Abe Cajuste, offensive lineman Dallas Hinkhouse, linebacker Eric Finney (he'll play the STAR role) and safety Zane Petty all signed letters of intent on Wednesday to play football at Illinois.

Baseball's Class of 2013 'very, very successful'

We've looked at Illinois women's basketball, volleyball and softball so far in terms of the recruits they signed for the Class of 2013 on Nov. 14.

Our last one to profile before Christmas hits next Tuesday: baseball

More on Finke's commitment

The original thought process didn't have a mid-December commitment in mind.

But when Champaign Centennial junior big man Michael Finke and his family visited the Illinois campus on Wednesday, that's what happened.

Morgan continues to develop

Illinois head coach John Groce's system relies heavily on guards. That's easy to see after the first 11 games this season.

Illinois fans can watch two players who will directly correlate to that style at 8:30 tonight on ESPN when Chicago Simeon High School senior guards Kendrick Nunn and Jaylon Tate take on DeSoto (Texas) High School and Duke commit Matt Jones.

Illinois softball adds athletes in the circle

Plenty of Illinois sports had a number of recruits ink letters of intent on Nov. 14.

Even with National Signing Day taking place almost a month ago, we'll take a look each Wednesday leading up to Christmas at some of the recruits other Illini teams were able to sign. Last week we profiled volleyball coach Kevin Hambly's three additions to the Class of 2013.
