The lowdown on Quentin Snider

Quentin Snider’s change in plans means a second straight weekend of a top basketball recruit visiting Illinois.

We’ll see if it ends the same way Leron Black’s weekend did last Sunday and Snider gives John Groce a verbal commitment.

Snider, a 6-foot-1, 150-pound point guard from Louisville (Ky.) Ballard High School, was a one-time Rick Pitino commit.

For a long time.

But he decided he didn’t want to wind up with the hometown Cardinals and re-opened his recruitment a month ago.

He visited UCLA last weekend and was set to arrive at Illinois at the end of the month for an unofficial visit, but instead will come for an official visit this weekend.

It’s a good sign for Illinois, who are riding a wave of recruiting momentum since Black's commitment.

Here's some other tidbits about Snider to get your Friday morning started.
