The year 2013 has provided Illinois a number of gifts when it comes to the world of recruiting.
Like Leron Black, fresh off his Most Outstanding Player honors at the Iolani Classic down in Hawaii.
Or the Stone-Davis twins, Tyrin and Tyree, two junior college transfers who could bolster Illinois in key areas at wide receiver and the defensive secondary, respectively.
The junior college football players keep on rolling in for Illinois.
And Tim Beckman might have received the most prized one so far with regards to the Class of 2014.
Defensive tackle Jihad Ward, listed at 6-foot-7 and 285 pounds, gave Beckman an oral commitment Thursday night, picking Illinois ahead of offers from South Florida, Temple, Tennessee, Washington and West Virginia.

School, he’d play his college football at Cincinnati.
Now he’ll get to do so at Illinois after the outside linebacker committed
to Tim Beckman’s team on Wednesday afternoon.
