Three 2015 in-state prospects on Rivals' Top 250

An early glimpse at the Class of 2015 football prospects came to light on Tuesday.

Rivals.com released its initial top 250 compilation of elite high school juniors across the country.

The state of Illinois wasn't heavily represented, although Illinois does have several recruiting targets who found their way onto the list.

Leading the way is East St. Louis defensive lineman Terry Beckner Jr. Beckner (6-foot-4, 270 pounds) has offers from Illinois, Cincinnati, Florida, Florida State, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Minnesota, Missouri, Nebraska, Ohio State, Purdue, Syracuse and Tennessee.

He is listed as a four-star recruit and checks in at No. 31 on the list.

Another Flyer, running back Natereace Strong, is also highly-coveted as a four-star recruit.

The 5-11, 195-pound Strong, who holds offers from Illinois, Florida State, Kansas, Michigan State, Missouri and Ohio State, finds himself at No. 194.

The other Illinois prep product among the top 250 is New Lenox Providence Catholic wide receiver Miles Boykin.

The 6-4, 230-pound Boykin lists offers from Illinois, Michigan State, Mississippi, Toledo, Virginia Tech, Western Michigan and Wisconsin, and is ranked at No. 237.

Illinois has a multitude of players they've offered scholarships too scattered throughout the rankings.

Offensive lineman Mitch Hyatt (6-5, 258) from Suwanee (Ga.) North Gwinnett High School is slotted in at 13th. The five-star recruit has offers from Illinois, Alabama, Auburn, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Kentucky, Miami (Fla.), North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee, UCLA and USC.

Four-star defensive tackle Shy Tuttle (6-2, 308) from Lexington (N.C.) North Davidson High School is ranked 19th. He has offers from Illinois, Alabama, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, South Carolina, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

Athlete Jerome Baker (6-1, 202) from Cleveland Benedictine High School is ranked 25th. The four-star recruit has offers from Illinois, Akron, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa, Louisville, Michigan, Michigan State, Ohio State, Penn State, Tennessee and West Virginia.

Cornerback Garrett Taylor (6-1, 185) from Richmond (Va.) St. Christopher's School has offers from Illinois, Boston College, Clemson, Duke, Iowa, Kentucky, Maryland, Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Penn State, South Carolina, South Florida, Stanford, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Virginia and Virginia Tech. The four-star recruit is slotted in at No. 38.

Another cornerback, Tyrek Cole (5-10, 160) checks in at No. 41. The four-star recruit from Miramar (Fla.) High School has offers from Illinois, Akron, Cincinnati, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Miami (Fla.), Mississippi, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Notre Dame, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, South Florida, Tennessee, UCF, UCLA, Washington State and West Virginia.

Four-star linebacker Justin Hilliard — ranked 45th — from Cincinnati St. Xavier High School has a multitude of offers. Illinois, Akron, Alabama, Arkansas, Boston College, Bowling Green, Clemson, Duke, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Louisville, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, Michigan State, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, North Carolina, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, South Carolina, Texas A&M, Toledo, Virginia, West Virginia and Western Michigan have all offered the 6-2, 225-pound Hilliard.

Offensive guard Chuma Edoga (6-4, 275) is a four-star recruit in at No. 50 from Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern High School. He has offers from Illinois, Arkansas, Clemson, East Carolina, Florida, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Kentucky, Maryland, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Carolina, Vanderbilt and Virginia.

Four-star running back Larry Scott (6-1, 215) from Hubbard (Ohio) High School is ranked 54th, and has offers from Illinois, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Kentucky, Michigan State, Tennessee, Toledo and West Virginia.

Another running back, Taj Griffin (5-10, 170) from Powder Springs (Ga.) McEachern High School, is at No. 69. The four-star recruit has offers from Illinois, Arkansas, Clemson, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Louisville, Marshall, Missouri, North Carolina, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oregon, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Syracuse and UCLA.

Defensive end Jashon Cornell (6-3, 238), a four-star recruit from St. Paul (Minn.) Cretin-Derham Hall High School, has offers from Illinois, Arkansas, California, Florida, Indiana, Iowa, Michigan, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi, Missouri, Nebraska, Northwestern, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Florida, Stanford, USC, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin. Cornell checks in at No. 74.

Linebacker Jahvoni Simmons (6-2, 225) takes the 77th spot. The linebacker from Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes High School has offers from Illinois, North Carolina, Ohio State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech and Wisconsin.

Wide receiver Carlos Strickland (6-4, 197), a four-star recruit from Dallas Skyline High School, is ranked 101st. He has offers from Illinois, LSU, Oklahoma State, SMU, TCU and Texas Tech.

Detroit Cass Tech running back Mike Webber (5-10, 205) has offers from Illinois, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Syracuse, Tennessee and Wisconsin. The four-star recruit is ranked 108th.

Offensive tackle George Brown (6-6, 253) from Cincinnati Winton Woods High School, a four-star recruit, is ranked 115th. He has offers from Illinois, Akron, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Boston College, Bowling Green, Cincinnati, Clemson, Duke, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Indiana, Kansas State, Kent State, Kentucky, Louisville, LSU, Marshall, Miami (Ohio), Michigan State, Mississippi State, Missouri, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Syracuse, Toledo, UCLA, Vanderbitl, Virginia Tech, Washington State and West Virginia.

Four-star wide receiver Alex Ofodile (6-3, 180) from Columbia (Mo.) Rock Bridge High School is slotted at No. 138. He has offers from Illinois, Colorado, Florida State, Indiana, Iowa, Kentucky, Memphis, Mississippi, Missouri, North Carolina, Vanderbilt and Wisconsin.

Four-star running back Darrin Hall (5-11, 196) from Youngstown (Ohio) Austintown Fitch High School is ranked 144th. He has offers from Illinois, Arkansas, Florida Atlantic, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Nebraska, Northwestern, Purdue and Toledo.

Defensive tackle Marquise Overton (6-1, 300), a four-star prospect from Jenks (Okla.) High School is ranked 153rd. He has offers from Illinois, Baylor, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Oklahoma State, Oregon State, Texas Tech, Toledo and Tulsa.

Tight end C.J. Conrad (6-5, 220) from LaGrange (Ohio) Keystone High School is a four-star recruit, is ranked 161st and has offers from Illinois, Akron, Bowling Green, Duke, Indiana, Kentucky, Pittsburgh and Toledo.

Four-star linebacker Darrin Kirkland Jr. (6-2, 215) from Indianapolis Lawrence Central High School is pegged at No. 169. He has offers from Illinois, Akron, Cincinnati, Indiana, Louisville, Northwestern, Toledo, Vanderbilt and Virginia Tech.

Four-star wide receiver Equanimeous St. Brown (6-4, 200) from Anaheim (Calif.) Servite High School checks in at No. 177. He has offers from Illinois, Arizona, Indiana, Northwestern, San Diego State, Tennessee, Utah, Vanderbilt and Washington State.

Right below St. Brown is athlete Jalen Christian from Damascus (Md.) High School at No. 178. Christian (5-10, 173), a four-star recruit, has offers from Illinois, Clemson, Connecticut, Duke, Maryland, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Pittsburgh, South Carolina, Temple, Tennessee, Virginia, Virginia Tech, West Virginia and Wisconsin.

Offensive tackle Ryan Bates (6-5, 285) from Warminster (Pa.) Archbishop Wood Catholic, a four-star recruit, has offers from Illinois, Boston College, Georgia Tech, Maryland, Penn State, PIttsburgh, Rutgers, South Carolina, Temple and Virginia. Bates is ranked 184th.

Defensive tackle Kahlil McKenzie (6-3, 266) from Concord (Calif.) De La Salle High School, a four-star recruit, is ranked 192nd. He has offers from Illinois, Arizona, Duke, Miami (Fla.), Mississippi, Washington, Washington State and Wisconsin.

Jaason Lewis (6-2, 233), a four-star athlete from Virginia Beach (Va.) Ocean Lakes High School, is ranked 195th. He has offers from Illinois, Connecticut, East Carolina, Florida State, Georgia Tech, Miami (Fla.), Michigan, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Ohio State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Tennessee, UCLA, Virginia, Virginia Tech, Wake Forest and Wisconsin.

Four-star linebacker Nick Conner (6-3, 215) from Dublin (Ohio) Scioto High School is ranked 223d. He sports offers from Illinois and Kentucky.

Athlete Kamonte Carter (6-4, 230) from Gaithersburg (Md.) High School is a four-star recruit ranked 239th. He has offers from Illinois, East Carolina, Maryland, Michigan, Michigan State, Nebraska, North Carolina State, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, Temple and West Virginia.

A teammate of Class of 2014 Illinois commit Henry McGrew rounds out the list. Blue Valley (Kan.) offensive lineman AJ Harris (6-3, 297) is ranked 243rd and boasts offers from Illinois, Iowa State, Kansas, Kansas State, Minnesota and Missouri.
