What to wear for UI football

What to wear for UI football

Illinois could wear a different uniform for every football regular season game in 2014.

And not wear it twice.

Ditto for the 2015 season. The Illini would still have three possible uniform combinations it could sport in its first three games of the 2016 season — the season the Big Ten unveils a nine-game conference schedule — without wearing the same uniform twice. If the Illini wanted to.

Of course, that scenario means no bowl games or trips to the Big Ten Championship game.

While the fate of how far each of the next two Illini teams go will play itself out, here’s what future recruits will see this fall and could see in subsequent seasons when Illinois trots out with its new look:

1. White pants, white jersey tops, white helmets

Comment: Different look could wind up as popular choice

2. White pants, white jersey tops, blue helmets
