Future Illini gear up for season

Illinois football commits for the Class of 2015 and other targets Tim Beckman is pursuing start their upcoming seasons this month.

Here's where you can find some future Illini in action when their seasons get going in the next month.

The commits
DRE BROWN, a senior running back at DeKalb (Ill.) High School who committed to Illinois on March 7, and the Barbs start their season at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 at home against Vernon Hills (Ill.) High School. The Barbs finished 5-5 last season.

REGGIE CORBIN, a senior running back at Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga College High School who committed to Illinois on May 27, and the Eagles begin their season at 6 p.m. on Aug. 29 on the road against Neshaminy (Pa.) High School in Langhorne, Pa. The Eagles went 6-5 last season.

ANDREW DAVIS, a sophomore tight end at Iowa Western Community College who committed to Illinois on June 1, and the Reivers open up the season at 1 p.m. on Aug. 30 at home against Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College. The Reivers compiled an 11-1 record in 2013.

HENRY ENYENIHI, a sophomore running back at Sacramento (Calif.) City College who committed to Illinois on July 3, and the Panthers play their first game of the season at 8 p.m. on Sept. 6 at home against Laney (Calif.) College. The Panthers compiled a 1-9 record last season.

JIMMY FITZGERALD, a senior quarterback at Champaign (Ill.) Centennial High School who committed to Illinois on Feb. 1, and the Chargers open their season at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Morton (Ill.) High School. The Chargers finished 4-5 last season.

ZACH HEATH, a sophomore offensive lineman at American River (Calif.) College who committed to Illinois on July 1, and the Beavers start their season at 8 p.m. on Sept. 6 at home against Modesto (Calif.) Junior College. The Beavers went 8-2 last season.

ZEKE MARTIN, a senior offensive lineman at Medina (Ohio) High School who committed to Illinois on June 18, and the Bees debut at 6 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Brunswick (Ohio) High School. The Bees went 3-6 last year.

SAM MAYS, a senior wide receiver at The Kinkaid School in Houston who committed to Illinois on July 6, and the Falcons open their season at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Houston St. Thomas High School. The Falcons were a perfect 11-0 last season.

GABE MEGGINSON, a senior offensive lineman at Jacksonville (Ill.) High School who committed to Illinois on April 25, and the Crimsons start play at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29 with a home game against Springfield (Ill.) Lanphier High School. The Crimsons put together a 7-4 record last season.

A.D. MILLER, a senior wide receiver at Dallas Bishop Dunne Catholic School who committed to Illinois on July 5, and the Falcons start play at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 with a home game against Dallas Christian. The Falcons finished 7-5 last season.

PAT NELSON, a senior defensive back at Chicago Hales Franciscan High School who committed to Illinois on June 25, and the Spartans begin their season at home at 6:30 p.m. on Aug. 30 against Chicago Bogan High School. The Spartans went 4-5 last season.

ADAM SOLOMON, a senior offensive lineman at Indianapolis Bishop Chatard High School who committed to Illinois on May 31, and the Trojans open the season with a 5 p.m. game on Aug. 22 against Indianpolis Brebeuf Jesuit Prep School at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis. The Trojans went 9-4 last season.

10 targets to watch
WESLEY ANNAN, a senior defensive tackle at Lake Forest (Ill.) Academy, and the Caxys, who went 4-5 last season, open the season at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Highland Park (Ill.) High School. Annan has offers from Ball State, Boston College, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Duke, Illinois, Maryland, Miami (Ohio), Mississippi State, New Mexico, Rutgers, Syracuse, Toledo, Tulane, Western Michigan and Wyoming.

TUF BORLAND, a junior linebacker at Bolingbrook, and the Raiders, who went 10-1 last fall, start the season at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29 at home against Hinsdale (Ill.) Central High School. Borland has offers from Illinois and Massachusetts.  

STEVEN FRANK, a junior quarterback at Oswego (Ill.) High School, and the Panthers, who went 9-3 last season, debut at Batavia (Ill.) High School at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 29. Frank has offers from Illinois and Miami (Ohio).

DIOR JOHNSON, a senior defensive back at Southfield (Mich.) High School, and the Bluejays, who went 7-3 last season, start play at 3 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Orchard Lake (Mich.) St. Mary's High School. Johnson has offers from Akron, Ball State, Bowling Green, Buffalo, Central Michigan, Cincinnati, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Miami (Ohio), Northern Illinois, Toledo, Wake Forest and Western Michigan.

JAMAL MILAN, a senior defensive tackle at Chicago Al Raby High School, and the Raiders, who went 7-4 last season, begin the season at 7:15 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Chicago Westinghouse College Prep. Milan has offers from Ball State, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Eastern Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa State, Maryland, Miami (Ohio), Minnesota, New Mexico, Northern Illinois, Syracuse and Western Michigan.  

KENTRAIL MORAN, a junior running back at O'Fallon (Ill.) High School, and the Panthers, who went 5-5 last season, open the season at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29 at home against Cahokia (Ill.) High School. Moran has offers from Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Northern Illinois and Syracuse.  

QUINN OSELAND, a senior offensive tackle at Springfield (Ill.) Sacred Heart-Griffin High School, and the Cyclones, who went 14-0 last season, begin defense of their Class 5A state title at 7 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Springfield's Memorial Stadium against Springfield (Ill.) High School. Oseland has offers from Arizona State, Bowling Green, California, Cincinnati, Connecticut, Florida Atlantic, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Louisville, Michigan State, Minnesota, Mississippi State, North Carolina State, Northern Illinois, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Southern Mississippi, Syracuse, Toledo, Utah, Washington State and Wyoming.

CALEB REAMS, a senior tight end at Gurnee (Ill.) Warren High School, and the Blue Devils, who went 7-4 last fall, start the season at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 at home against LaGrange (Ill.) Lyons Township High School. Reams, a former Western Michigan commit, has offers from Illinois, Bowling Green, Syracuse, Wake Forest and Western Michigan.

ACE ROGERS, a sophomore defensive back at Iowa Western Community College, and the Reivers, who went 11-1 last season, open the season at 1 p.m. on Aug. 30 at home against Coffeyville (Kan.) Community College. Rogers has offers from Georgia State, Idaho, Illinois, Miami (Ohio), Minnesota, Ohio, South Alabama and Utah State.

RAEQUAN WILLIAMS, a senior defensive tackle at DePaul College Prep in Chicago, and the Rams, who went 3-6 last season, begin play at 7:30 p.m. on Aug. 29 at Round Lake (Ill.) High School. Williams has offers from Akron, Arizona, Arizona State, Boston College, Bowling Green, Connecticut, Illinois, Indiana, Iowa, Iowa State, Kentucky, Missouri, Penn State, Purdue, Tennessee, Toledo and Western Michigan.
