Weekend Wrap: Miller thrives for Bishop Dunne

Each week during the football season, Illinois football beat writer Matt Daniels will recap how commits and targets for Tim Beckman's program fared during the previous weekend's worth of games.

DRE BROWN, a senior running back at DeKalb (Ill.) High School who committed to Illinois on March 7, and the Barbs won 42-21 at McHenry (Ill.) High School on Friday night. Brown rushed for 188 yards and five touchdowns to carry the Barbs. Brown and the Barbs (3-0) get back in action at 7:30 p.m. this Friday against Sycamore (Ill.) High School. The two rivals are set to play at Northern Illinois University's Huskie Stadium.

REGGIE CORBIN, a senior running back at Washington (D.C.) Gonzaga College High School who committed to Illinois on May 27, and the Eagles won 38-3 at North Bethesda (Md.) Georgetown Prep on Saturday afternoon. Corbin rushed for 106 yards on 14 carries and had three rushing touchdowns of 1, 3 and 15 yards. Corbin and the Eagles (3-0) resume play at 6 p.m. this Friday at Washington (D.C.) McKinley Tech High School.

ANDREW DAVIS, a sophomore tight end at Iowa Western Community College who committed to Illinois on June 1, and the Reivers won 41-0 at Highland (Kan.) Community College on Saturday afternoon. Davis and the Reivers (3-0) return to the field at 2:30 p.m. this Saturday at home against Dodge City (Kan.) Community College.

HENRY ENYENIHI, a sophomore running back at Sacramento (Calif.) City College who committed to Illinois on July 3, and the Panthers won 20-17 at Foothill (Calif.) College on Saturday night, but Enyenihi only managed 4 rushing yards on nine carries. Enyenihi and the Panthers (1-1) are scheduled to host Santa Rosa (Calif.) Junior College at 4 p.m. this Saturday.

JIMMY FITZGERALD, a senior quarterback at Champaign (Ill.) Centennial High School who committed to Illinois on Feb. 1, and the Chargers beat Danville (Ill.) High School 47-27 at home on Friday night. Fitzgerald is out for the season after he tore the ACL in his right knee during Centennial's 42-13 win at home against Marion (Ill.) High School last Saturday night. Fitzgerald finishes the season 26 of 33 with 433 passing yards, four touchdowns and one interception while adding 153 rushing yards on 17 carries and five touchdowns. The Chargers (3-0) continue their season at 7 p.m. this Friday at Tommy Stewart Field in Champaign against rival Champaign (Ill.) Central High School.

ZACH HEATH, a sophomore offensive lineman at American River (Calif.) College who committed to Illinois on July 1, and the Beavers won 49-28 at DeAnza (Calif.) College on Saturday afternoon. Heath and the Beavers (2-0) resume play at 3 p.m. this Saturday at San Joaquin Delta (Calif.) College.

ZEKE MARTIN, a senior offensive lineman at Medina (Ohio) High School who committed to Illinois on June 18, and the Bees lost 47-37 at Wadsworth on Friday night. Martin and the Bees (1-2) are slated to play at 6 p.m. this Friday at Garfield Heights (Ohio) High School.

SAM MAYS, a senior wide receiver at The Kinkaid School in Houston who committed to Illinois on July 6, and the Falcons lost 36-21 at Houston St. Pius X High School on Friday night. Mays and the Falcons (1-2) will return to the field at 7 p.m. this Friday at home against Houston Worthing High School.

GABE MEGGINSON, a senior offensive lineman at Jacksonville (Ill.) High School who committed to Illinois on April 25, and the Crimsons lost 49-10 at Springfield (Ill.) Sacred Heart-Griffin High School on Friday night. Megginson and the Crimsons (1-2) get back in action at 7 p.m. this Friday at Springfield (Ill.) High School.

A.D. MILLER, a senior wide receiver at Dallas Bishop Dunne Catholic School who committed to Illinois on July 5, and the Falcons routed Dallas Madison High School 49-7 on Friday night at home. Miller corralled seven catches for 144 yards and four touchdowns. Miller and the Falcons (2-0) are back in action at 7:30 p.m. this Friday at Dallas Roosevelt High School.

PAT NELSON, a senior defensive back at Chicago Hales Franciscan High School who committed to Illinois on June 25, and the Spartans lost 25-22 to Chicago DePaul College Prep on Saturday. Nelson and the Spartans (2-1) are slated to play at 6:30 p.m. this Friday at Chicago St. Francis de Sales High School.

CALEB REAMS, a senior tight end at Gurnee (Ill.) Warren High School who committed to Illinois on Aug. 9, and the Blue Devils lost 33-20 at Lincolnshire (Ill.) Stevenson High School on Friday night. Reams and the Blue Devils (1-2) resume play at 7:30 p.m. this Friday at home against Libertyville (Ill.) High School.

ADAM SOLOMON, a senior offensive lineman at Indianapolis Bishop Chatard High School who committed to Illinois on May 31, and the Trojans lost 28-20 to Indianapolis Cathedral High School on Saturday afternoon at Indianapolis Lawrence Central High School. Solomon and the Trojans (3-1) are slated to play Indianapolis Cardinal Ritter High School at 4:30 p.m. this Friday at Lucas Oil Stadium.

WESLEY ANNAN, a senior defensive tackle at Lake Forest (Ill.) Academy, and the Caxys lost 35-33 at home against Aurora (Ill.) Christian High School on Saturday. Annan, who has offers from Ball State, Boston College, Bowling Green, Central Michigan, Duke, Illinois, Maryland, Miami (Ohio), Mississippi State, New Mexico, Rutgers, Syracuse, Toledo, Tulane, Virginia, Western Michigan and Wyoming, and the Caxys (0-3) return to the field at 2 p.m. this Saturday at home against Chicago DePaul College Prep.

DORANCE ARMSTRONG, a senior defensive end at Galena Park (Texas) North Shore High School, and the Mustangs lost 36-27 on Thursday night at Houston Spring Westfield High School. Lake Park because of disciplinary reasons, according to reports. KENTRAIL MORAN, a junior running back at O'Fallon (Ill.) High School, and the Panthers shut out Alton (Ill.) High School 27-0 to pick up a road win Friday night. Moran missed the game with a shoulder injury. Moran, who has offers from Illinois, Indiana, Kansas, Michigan, Northern Illinois and Syracuse, and the Panthers (2-1) resume play at 1 p.m. this Saturday at home against East St. Louis (Ill.) High School.

QUENTIN MOON, a senior linebacker at Indianapolis Pike High School, and the Red Devils lost 48-21 at Carmel (Ind.) High School on Friday night. Moon had a 3-yard touchdown catch in the loss. Moon, who has an offer from Illinois, and the Red Devils (2-2) play at Indianapolis Lawrence Central at 6 p.m. this Friday.

CHARLIE ROGERS, a Class of 2015 defensive back at Iowa Western Community College, and the Reivers won 41-0 at Highland (Kan.) Community College on Saturday afternoon.
