Recruiting Wrap

Recruiting Wrap

Cliff Alexander primer

It's less than 48 hours until Illinois hosts arguably its biggest recruit in a decade.

When Shaun Livingston descended upon the Illinois campus for his official visit, the buzz was nearly on the level it will approach this weekend.

For Cliff Alexander's official visit to Illinois.

Nagel comfortable with Illinois

Flynn Nagel still has time to decide on a college.

The Chicago Marist junior wide receiver is putting up some big numbers in the RedHawks' pass-happy offense, but the Class of 2015 recruit hasn't settled on when he wants to pick a school.

Illinois offered the 5-foot-11, 178-pound wideout first.

Illinois prep players in the Big Ten

Tim Beckman wants to ensure a large majority of Illinois high school football prospects wind up in Champaign-Urbana.

It's a goal past Illinois coaches have strived for, with varied degrees of success.

It's a message Beckman and his staff continue to preach not only for the upcoming Class of 2014, but also the Class of 2015 and Class of 2016.

THE COMMITS

Cvijanovic geeked about newest commit

Simon Cvijanovic hadn't heard from his brother yet on Monday.

The Illinois left tackle was getting a bit antsy.

He knew Illinois offensive line coach A.J. Ricker was out at East Coast Prep in Great Barrington, Mass., paying a visit to Peter Cvijanovic, Simon's younger brother.

And his older brother wanted an update.

Younger Cvijanovic newest commit

For those Illinois fans who have spent the last four years trying to pronounce Simon Cvijanovic's last name, they'll get more practice.

That's because the younger brother of the starting left tackle for Tim Beckman's team this fall is joining Illinois.

Peter Cvijanovic, a Class of 2014 offensive tackle, like his older brother, committed to Illinois on Monday night.
