Illinois back in Brunson race

The recruitment of Jalen Brunson probably won't take on the drama associated with, say, the recruitment of Cliff Alexander.

Mention the Chicago Curie big man who picked Kansas ahead of Illinois three months ago and emotions are bound to swirl among Illinois fans.

Big Ten football recruits worth watching

Here are 10 Big Ten football recruits in the Class of 2014 to take note of:

1. Raekwon McMillan, Ohio State. Looking for the next great linebacker for
the Buckeyes? Look no further. McMillan is the lone five-star recruit in
an otherwise loaded and deep class for Urban Meyer. The third-year coach
at Ohio State was able to convince the Georgia native to head north

Williams, Jordan on Top 100 list

At the moment, John Groce has two available scholarships still left for the Class of 2015.

Of course, that number can change between now and mid-November, when the Class of 2015 recruits can first sign letters of intent.

Just look at what transpired after the 2012-13 season for Illinois with the transfers coming and going on a frequent basis.

Allegretti, Domer two intriguing in-state recruits

The signing day hoopla for the Class of 2014 has subsided.

But the push for football coaches signing the Class of 2015 is already in full force.

Meet the Illini's Class of 2014

Had the chance to talk to almost all of the Illinois recruits who are a part of the Class of 2014. Tim Beckman's third class is comprised of 13 high school players and five junior college transfers. Here's what they had to say:

George's son heading to Illinois

Jeff George Jr. knows Memorial Stadium.

Knows Champaign-Urbana. Knows the Illinois campus.

"But I don't know if I have one exact memory from there," he said, "I've been going up there for a while, though."

He will become even more familiar with Illinois in the future, too.

Stone-Davis twins won't arrive until May

Two members of the 2014 recruiting class for Illinois who were expected to enroll early and take part in spring practices won’t do so.

Tyree Stone-Davis and Tyrin Stone-Davis, twins from Philadelphia who redshirted this past fall at Pierce College in Woodland Hills, Calif., both said Monday night that academic issues are forcing them to take extra classes at Pierce this semester.
