Interesting that Ron Zook was able to land a running back out of Cincinnati this week.

It reaffirms our Bob Asmussen's thinking that Ohio State's early recruiting success ultimately will help schools like Illinois. Basically, the Buckeyes' Class of 2009 already is booked. That means talent like Bud Golden has to look elsewhere.

In this case, it's Illinois.

Ohio State's remarkable upcoming class, many in the state believe, was triggered by Zook's successful recruitment of Cleveland star Cordale Scott. Here's one account worth a read .

I'd encourage a trip to Camp Rantoul simply to see Scott work out. He definitely looks like a player.

Speaking of recruiting, the tailbacks Zook brought in this season are gaining attention. N-G All-Staters Mikel Leshoure and Jason Ford rank high in this list of the nation's top freshmen .
