If you missed out on getting into the Champaign Park District Mini-tri next weekend, don't worry. There are lots of opportunities for triathlons, bike rides and runs coming up.

This weekend, there’s the second installment of Champaign Cycle’s Daycation Museum Bicycle Tour.
This ride to the Chanute Air Museum in Rantoul leaves at 9 a.m. Saturday from the Brookens building at 1776 E. Washington, Urbana. There is no charge for the ride, but cyclists will need to pay the $10 admission to the museum.

Want to add swimming and running to your ride?
Check out the Lytle Park Triathlon Sunday in Mattoon. It comprises a 300-meter pool swim, a 12.5-mile bike ride, and a 3-mile run. Here’s a link for more information.

Weekend of Aug. 7-8:
— Villa Grove Ag Days 5K Walk/Run
The race starts at 8 a.m. Aug. 7 at Henson Park in Villa Grove. Race day registration begins at 7 a.m. The entry fee is $12.

-- Run 4 Raley
This is a 5K run, 1-mile walk and kids fun run on Aug. 7 at 8 a.m. at the Philo Ball Park. The proceeds of the race benefit the United Mitochondrial Disease Foundation. The race is dedicated to Raley Lynn Kirby, who died from mitochondrial disorder at the age of seven weeks. For more information, go to

Weekend of Aug. 14-15:
— C-U Ride Across the Prairie
This is the main event for Prairie Cycle Club, which puts on the ride on Aug. 14. You can choose from routes of 17, 35 and 65 miles, on flat to slightly rolling roads near Mahomet.
Breakfast, lunch and food stops along the route are provided.
The cost of the ride is $25 if you sign up before Sunday, $30 after that. You get a $5 discount if you’re a member of Prairie Cycle Club.

-- St. Joseph Community Festival 5K

This 5K run and recreational walk is on Aug. 14 at 7:30 a.m. Race day registration is from 6 to 7 a.m. at the St. Joseph United Methodist Church. For more information, e-mail or call 217/469-9507.

— Stovepipe Sprint Triathlon and Railsplitter Triathlon
These events in Petersburg on Aug. 14 are part of the Abraham Lincoln Triathlon Series. The sprint triathlon is a 600-yard swim, 18-mile bike and 4.4-mile run. The Railsplitter is a 1-mile swim, 36-mile bike and 7-mile run.
