Michelle Mehnert — University of Illinois swimmer and triathlete — competed in the triathlon age group Short Course World Championships in Budapest, Hungary, on Sunday. (Actually, it was late Saturday night, our time.)
She finished 10th out of 55 athletes in her age group, 20- to 24-year-old women, and third among the U.S. athletes in that age group.
She was 61st overall among women, out of 501 female athletes.
Michelle completed her Olympic distance triathlon (1500-meter swim, 40K bike, 10K run) in 2:06:44.
